Meet The Team
Emily Pink (she/her)
Co-President
Hello! I'm Emily and I am Co-President of Be The Change this year! I have an interest in slow fashion and intersectional environmentalism, running my own blog and updating everyone on here too! I am also an ambassador for slow fashion NPO Remake.Word! I'm so excited to meet you!
Isabella Purves (she/her)
Co-President
Hi, I’m Isabella and the Co-President of BTC this year! I’m interested in how governance can legitimise certain climate actions and greener forms of living.
Becky Rowe (she/her)
Treasurer (and long-term BTC icon!)
I am the treasurer for Be the Change this year. I have been on committee for the past four years, and have been president for three of those! It has been an absolute joy to be such an integral part of the society all this time, and I am so excited to support and continue in Be the Change!! My interest lies in environmental psychology, especially the psychological consequences of climate change, such as climate anxiety and ego grief and have worked with with the sustainability team on project around supporting staff and students with these emotions.
Beth Fraser (she/her)
Outreach Officer
I'm Beth! I'm going into my final year of my history degree, I loved being on committee in my second year and am excited to do outreach work this year.
Molly Williams (she/her)
I am the campaign officer next year and will be a second year year geography student hoping to go into a sustainability based career in the future. I became interested in the climate movement during my involvement in my local youth climate alliance for 4 years where I took part in community scale actions and campaigns. I am also really interested in the importance of biodiversity management and rewilding!
Phoebe Peake-Sexton (she/her)
Hey, I’m Phoebe and am going into my second year of Psychology! I first became interested in the climate movement back in 2018, inspired by Greta Thunberg’s FridaysForFuture campaign. I am particularly passionate about accessibility within sustainability and dealing with eco anxiety, so hope to create change and help others!
Freya Williams (she/her)
Hi!! I’m Freya, one of the social and publicity secretaries this year! I can’t wait to be part of the team again, and I am looking forward to hosting more events and working with more societies! I hope to create events that are accessible and promote the idea that you don’t need to know everything about environmentalism to join BTC.
Kirsty Carver (she/her)
Publicity and Social Secretary
Hi, I’m Kirsty, and I will be the joint social and publicity secretary for Be The Change! I am going into my second year of BA Geography, and have always been interested in fashion sustainability. I am a huge advocate for second hand clothing, volunteering in a charity shop for a year, and I hope to promote this further, reducing the impact of fashion on the environment!
Emily Alexander (she/her)
General Secretary
Hi, I’m Emily and I am general sec this year! I am going into my second year of English and management! Two areas that I am particularly interested in, are sustainable fashion and ethical food practices.
