BTC September Round-Up

September marked the start of term here at Exeter, and we had a lot of fun celebrating Welcome Week. So here's a round-up of exactly what we got up to this month!

Welcome Week Fair

Our first event of the 2023-2024 academic year was promoting our society at the Welcome Week Fair. On Thursday 21st September, me (Emily - Welfare), Filippa (General), Becky (President) and Isabella (Treasurer) teamed up to discuss all things green. We got to meet a huge amount of prospective members, all with a genuine passion for sustainability and environmentalism, which was incredibly exciting for all of the team. If you saw us there, thank you for taking the time to come over and learn about what it is that we do!

Charity Shop Crawl

To continue the Welcome Week festivities, we hosted a hugely successful charity shop crawl. Giving you the opportunity to explore your new favourite bargain spots, as well as finding your way around a new city, the event was an absolute joy. It was so much fun meeting you all and learning about why you want to join Be The Change.

Sustainable Sundays

Our final event of the month took place on Sunday 24th September, to complete a hectic Welcome Week of green activities. Bringing back our successful event from last year, Sustainable Sundays gives our members the opportunity to chat with a coffee about a climate-focused topic and create resources using Canva.

Take a look at the finished result! Thank you to everyone that came and contributed, and do make sure to check our Instagram for details of upcoming events.

Wow - what a month! We are blown away by the passion, excitement and dedication everyone has brought to our space this month, and cannot wait to continue this journey together across the upcoming year.

Love,

Emily and Team Be The Change x
