October Round-Up

Hello BeTheChangers! It feels hard to believe that it's time for a monthly round-up again, but here it is.

October is of course Spooky Season, so keep reading to see just what we got up to this month.

Sustainable Sunday - 8th October

This week's topic was 'Positive Climate News'. Maintaining hope and highlighting all of the amazing action happening across the globe is so important to reduce fatigue and eco-anxiety. Have a look at just some of the fantastic news stories our members discovered.

World Mental Health Day - 10th October

For this year's World Mental Health Day, we celebrated by creating a digital resource and hosting a Wellbeing Walk. The theme of the day this year was "Mental Health Is A Universal Human Right", recognising the inequalities of access to reliable mental wellbeing support across the globe. At Be The Change, we firmly believe that enhancing access to mental health care is vital to developing a sustainable future for us all. We are always here for you, so please pop us a message if you feel like you need support.

Wellbeing Walk - 11th October

On the day after World Mental Health Day, we hosted a Wellbeing Walk! We explored the beautiful Streatham campus, and took some great pics that certainly display our love of nature. Exeter has some beautiful green spaces, and these walks are a great way of getting some fresh air as a break from university life.

Sustainable Sunday - 22nd October

Our second and final Sustainable Sunday was, of course, a Halloween special! We discussed all things sustainable costumes, crafts, activities and parties. Have a look at our resource down below., or see the entire post on our Instagram.

Spooky Crafts - 23rd October

Our last activity of October was a Spooky Halloween crafting session. We got creative and made some super cool pieces out of recycled and excess materials. Can you spot the campus cat on our decorations?

We've had a super fun month of sustainable activities, and hope that everyone who joined us did too.
